My name is Katharine Forsyth, usually known as Kate, and I live in Chard. I have been in Chard for the last 32 years. I used to work for the local council which is where I first realised that within my work I was actually counselling, allowing the people I was with at that time their time and truly listening and really hearing the problems they were facing and the feelings they were experiencing.

In order to work as your Counsellor I am obliged to retain certain information about you and to maintain these records both ethically and to fulfil insurance requirements. Other information that I create is not a legal requirement but will help me to do my job as your Counsellor. I will need to keep information such as personal details and contact details. I also process some information that may include physical or mental health details. I have an ethical requirement to collect and retain this personal information about you.
All information is kept securely and treated in confidence and I am aware of my responsibilities under General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). In general, the confidential information I hold will only be shared if I am duty bound to disclose for legal reasons by the police or the courts or in the event that you might harm yourself or at risk of harming others. All details will be kept strictly confidential and records are kept secure.
